Call to Action: Join the SVIAC Board of Directors or a Committee and Make a Difference!

As a valued member of the South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition (SVIAC), your support for the preservation and enhancement of our local fisheries is deeply appreciated. Together, we have accomplished much, but there is always more work to be done to protect and sustain our precious fishery resources.

In our Fall 2024 SVIAC newsletter, we announced a new governance model to support SVIAC going forward. We are now reaching out to invite you to take a more active role in shaping the future of SVIAC by joining our Board of Directors, or participating in one of our Working Committees. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, contribute your skills and expertise, and make a tangible impact on our conservation initiatives and
advocacy efforts.

Why join the Board or one of our Committees?

  • Make a Difference: Network with our leadership team to help guide SVIAC’s mission and direct projects to ensure the sustainability of our local fisheries for future generations.
  • Share Your Skills: Add your passion for fishing and unique talents and insights to our leadership team to strengthen our organization.
  • Build Connections: Work alongside passionate individuals who share your commitment to angling and conservation.

Opportunities Available

  • Board of Directors: Become a SVIAC Director, joining the Executive Team. We are currently looking specifically to fill the role of Secretary. Leverage your skills and experience to help shape the overall direction and strategy of SVIAC.
  • Committees: We are currently seeking people to fill volunteer positions on our Derby Committee, the Membership Committee and the Advocacy Committee.
  • Webmaster(s): We are looking to round out our Communications team with a strong resource or two with experience in developing and managing a website and working with our Communications team and Committees.

We are looking for members who are passionate, motivated, and ready to contribute their skills, time and ideas. Whether you have experience in governance, event planning, marketing, sales or simply possess a strong commitment to the angling community, your involvement will be greatly valued.
